This may seem like an obvious place to start, but it’s an important one to mention.

I personally don’t think you need to be a total expert when you start offering specific clients your services.
In fact, I believe that offering the services and gaining experience will help you grow and develop your skills. This will allow you to charge more when you have more experienced and can help get your clients get better outcomes.
But you should definitely have a firm grasp on how Pinterest works and what their best practices are.
However, I do suggest you start by taking a few Pinterest courses to understand the platform from a business perspective and understand how to get the most out of your pinning efforts.
2. Make Sure Your VA Ready
If you are already a VA, you probably have a decently functioning set up of getting clients.
If you have absolutely no experience in virtual assisting, I suggest you get acquainted with what the job is and how to become a virtual assistant.

3. Hone in on Your Skills
Once you understand the basics of Pinterest and how to set up your VA Business, it’s time to get to work and start honing in on those skills!
Make sure to be actively using Pinterest everyday. Notice which pins catch your eye and ask yourself what about them makes you want to click on it.
Notice the top pins that pop up in the search feed and check out their pin descriptions and what words they are using to make them rank.
Pinterest is a special beast.
It isn’t the “social media” platform it’s typically made out to be.
No, its much more complex and really should be viewed as a visual search engine.
Get to know the platform well, and figure out how to use it to get the right people to see your clients pins.
4. Start Pitching to Businesses
Once you’re ready to start taking on clients, it’s time to finding them!
When you first start as a virtual assistant, clients aren’t going to be flocking to you.
You’ll have to set up a few basic processes to find clients who need your services and then eventually, set up an evergreen way to help your future clients find you.
So in the beginning, you’re going to have to pitch your services.
This means sending out cold emails to businesses or bloggers offering your services to them.
Your job in the begging will be to help them understand how you can help them grow their business.
This part tends to be the most intimidating when starting. But it’s so worth it and it gets easier after you do it a few times.
